One of my favorite quotes, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare,” Audre Lorde.
Self-care is one of those actions that should be acted upon more often then it is. Personally, there had been times when I had neglected indulging in the overall pampering of what I needed, mentally, emotionally, physically and most importantly spiritually. Many times, it can take practice to put yourself first, let alone, know how to create a practice of self-care.
There is no wrong or right way to practice self-care, there’s also no one way to go about it even within yourself. Maybe one day you treat yourself to a nice pedicure and the next time you take yourself out for a fancy dinner, whatever your version of fancy is. Maybe self-care for you is journaling or a walk in the park taking pictures of the trees and the birds (this is my personal favorite), the benefits of self-care are limitless and profound for your overall health.

Self-care is essential for our growth, our power, and our self-confidence, any time is a great time for self-care. So make sure that during all your wedding planning your scheduling in some much needed, self-indulgent time. As an added bonus, encourage your partner to take some time also, they probably need it and it is a great way to relax together and reconnect.

Yes I like time alone, but alone time with my wife. It seem like if I get some me time then time with my partner feels so much greater! Thank you for the reminder!
You are welcome and I bet she enjoys both as well.
