“My Reception, My reception, ferns, dancing, tons of people, ever pink flower west of the Mississippi” This is one of the best quotes in this movie. This movie captures, typically, everything southern weddings were back in the 80’s.
It’s also my favorite movie and I’m willing to bet it holds a special place in your heart also. ❤️ Now if we recall from the movie Shelby, a very traditional southern young lady marrying the man of her dreams has everyone involved in the details of her wedding. It’s such a classic romance story, but the reception is one for the books, who didn’t love this scene. 😆
You might be thinking of your wedding reception as just a big after party, celebrating with your nearest and dearest of family and friends. That’s a pretty accurate description of what a reception really is. If you’ve been to one or one hundred receptions, they all have one thing on common. THERE’S DANCING 💃🏾🕺👯🏼♀️👯🏿♂️. - Craft table – have guest make mini keepsakes for the couple
- Yard games especially for outdoor receptions – such as ring toss and boccee ball
There are so many ideas couples can do decide for their reception in addition to dancing, the typical garter and bouquet 💐 toss. Receptions are meant to bring out your creativity, show your flair, display your love and passion for each other with a little bit of your quirks and a side of intimacy thrown in.
So have fun creating and being adventurous while planning (or while someone else is planning) the best, most elaborate yet down to earth wedding reception you’ve ever been too. Don’t forget to have some cake in the process. 😉
